I absolutely love these products! While I’ve seen some complaints about the price, I believe you end up saving a lot in the long run. I use the two-bucket wash method, and I added an extra bucket for $5 along with the Chemical Guys dirt trap (with zip ties for easy placement and removal in the $5 bucket). The dirt trap fits perfectly in the Chemical Guys bucket. The wash is fantastic—it makes you feel like a professional! I probably won’t ever pay anyone to clean my car again because my results are impressive and quick. I use a chamois towel to dry, and my car always looks flawless. No scratches, and the shine is unbeatable. I won’t use any other method or wash again. I did experience a slight leak from the citrus wash, but it was minimal.

After a year of using this mitt for car washes (about once every 4-5 weeks on both a full-sized SUV and a sedan), one of the seams unraveled, causing the mitt to fall apart. While I managed to sew it back together, I’m a bit disappointed that it only lasted for around 20 uses. I wouldn’t drop a star for that, but I expected better quality than what’s typically available. I ended up stuffing it with a sponge and sewing it shut, transforming it into a microfiber sponge instead of a mitt.
I also finally ran out of the soap. It’s fantastic and brings back the shine on the car better than anything I’ve found at local auto parts stores; just an ounce is enough for an entire 5-gallon bucket. I’ve already ordered more to restock.

I purchased this kit primarily for the dirt trapper. Many reviews mention that it doesn’t fit well in standard 5-gallon buckets from HD or Lowe’s and requires modifications for a better fit. I didn’t want to deal with that hassle, so I opted for this kit that includes the proprietary bucket and some additional items.
The dirt trap filter fits perfectly in the bucket and effectively traps dirt at the bottom. However, since I use a two-bucket method, most of the dirt ends up in the rinse bucket. The only downside is that the dirt trap fits so snugly that it’s challenging to remove without flipping the bucket over. I’ve seen others drill holes and use zip ties for easier removal, but since I don’t need to take it out mid-wash, I left it as is.
The bucket is slightly shorter than a standard 5-gallon bucket, but it’s sturdy, and the lid is thick. I initially thought I could use it as a seat while cleaning the wheels, but I still need the soapy water in the bucket, so that hasn’t happened. Mostly, my kids have turned the lid into a frisbee while I wash the car.
The soap produces nice suds and leaves the car shiny. The lemon scent feels a bit gimmicky since I don’t go around smelling cars for that “just washed” aroma. The mitt seems to be of good quality; however, I struggle to get my hand inside when it’s wet, and it doesn’t feel significantly better than standard mitts available at stores.
Overall, while the individual components are nice, I don’t feel like the value justifies the price. If I had to do it again, I’d probably just buy the dirt trapper separately and save some money.

Upon opening the box, I discovered that two bottles had leaked a considerable amount of soap. To make matters worse, the sprayer handle on one of the bottles was completely broken. It’s evident that the packaging failed to secure the items properly during transit.
Despite these setbacks, the products are still functional, so I opted not to return the kit. The soap and cleaning agents perform well, providing the quality clean that Chemical Guys is known for. However, the frustration of the mess and the broken sprayer handle overshadowed the initial promise of an effortless car washing experience.
While I value the effectiveness of the products, the inconvenience caused by the poor packaging makes me unlikely to reorder. It’s disappointing, as a little more attention to packing could have significantly improved the experience.
